Extra, Extra.

Latest breaking Brendle news: we are moving. I am sorry to say that we have chosen to bid farewell to the place we have called home for the past five years. After a lot of fence sitting, on both mine and Chad's part, we have finally decided that it is time to close the Fruitwood chapter of our book and start anew. We are sad to leave our friends (who have become family) and our neighborhood and our ward, but we both feel strongly that it is time to move on.
We have purchased a home, I use the term loosely...a better description would be hole, pit and/or dump, in Draper. However, this dump boasts 4700 square feet, which is a great improvement from our humble 2300. It also sits on more than half an acre, which means we can buy those chickens I have always wanted. You think I'm joking, but I'm not. Ever since I saw Martha do a segment on chickens, I have always wanted some of my own. So, anyone in the market for organic eggs...you know who to call.
Fortunately, the structure is sound, but is in major need of TLC...unfortunately love does not come cheap, at least in this situation.
I have decided to start a new blog, aptly entitled HOME-LY, which will follow our progress as we transform our dream home "from pig sty, to totally fly". Feel free to join us. And, if any of you intelligent and highly educated peeps have any recommendations for appliances, flooring, granite, sub-contractors...who's good, who to avoid, where the best prices are etc, please feel free to share. Any and all suggestions welcome.
Also, if you know anyone in the market for renting please refer them to us. We will have a two bed, one bath basement apartment, new kitchen, paint and carpet ready for occupancy, hopefully by mid November. If our Fruitwood home doesn't sell by December, well then, that home will be available to rent too.
Ta-ta for now. I'm off to obsess over drawer pulls.

The home is on 12100 South and 400 East-ish. Right near the Draper Posts Office and Juan Diego High School.

That is exciting Erika...Do you have to sale your house or did you already close on the new one? I can't wait to see it. We would love to come and see the before so we truly can appreciate the after. We know how it is to fix up an old one and make it new...pretty FUN!!!

Thanks Emily. You are welcome to come see it anytime...just, be prepared. We may be calling you and Mike to get suggestions as you guys have fairly recently remodeled an "oldie, but goodie".

I just read on Michele's blog that you are addicted to all things twilight. I don't know if you know but there is a kiosk in the mall in Provo that sells all kinds of twilight t-shirts and trinkets.

Chickens? Hmmm....may want to chit chat with me on that subject in order to have an even perspective. I, at one time, had several chickens, a goat, raised hundreds of birds, and picked several hundred lbs of tomatoes each summer. Now there is something to be said for a humble and quaint exisitence, but the first time you are cleaning chicken carnage up from the first of many skunk attacks, "Farmer in the Dell" quickly becomes "Farmer's Life in Hell". No dis'rspect on Martha, just FYI. Also, been there, done that on the home overhaul thing. Go to the temple, read your scriptures, stay married.

Your home is not a sty, it is a work in progress. The last person who tried to make improvements was high on spray paint. I absolutely love your new home, is has everything you will ever need! Hey Cam and I may be intersted in renting when that day comes??? Just thought I would throw that out there

K, seriously, I am sad. You guys will be missed, but I am happy you will still be close and expect an invite to check out the place as it comes along.
