Me and My Girls

I went to the store the other day and came across matching shirts for the girls and I. At first I thought, how cute, but then I wondered if it might be kinda cheesy. I decided to buy them anyway, and here we are...me and my girls.

Ahhhh, Webkinz!!!

So, I'm sure that many of you are familiar with the craze that is, Webkinz. My kids each got one this past Christmas. I didn't think much of it until recently, when my sister, Michele, explained to me what I was missing. And now here I sit, with tile towers constantly on my mind. It's pretty pathetic when your kids have to beg you to get off the computer so they can have a turn. What's more, after the kids go to bed I hop back on and continue playing. I just wonder if anyone else is as obsessed as I am. If so, maybe we could start a support group-WOWW-wives obsessed with webkinz. Any takers?

Look-A-Like Meter

MyHeritage: Look-alike Meter - Family tree template - Roots

MyHeritage: Look-alike Meter - Family history - Vintage photographs

MyHeritage: Look-alike Meter - Family pics - Family photos

MyHeritage: Look-alike Meter - Descendents - Family history

I saw this look alike meter on another friends (Emily Nicolich) blog. I thought it was pretty cool, so I tried it. I don't know if I totally agree with the results.

Celebrity Look-A-Likes

Another fun feature on myheritage.com. I was really happy to see that John Ritter made the cut.

Soundtrack Of My Life

I just visited a friends (Liz) blog and she had the soundtrack of her life posted. Ever the music enthusiast, I had to do mine. So, here it is. If any of you want to try it yourself the rules are: open your music library (ipod, Itunes, Winamp, Media Player), put it on shuffle, press play, for every question jot down the name of the song that is playing, press next when you move on to the next question. NO CHEATING!!!

Opening Credits: "I Don't Wanna Be" Gavin DeGraw
Waking Up: "Salvation" Rancid
First Day At School: "Running" No Doubt (Okay, I have to comment. So, I had major separation issues as a child and this song is totally appropriate. It would be even more appropriate if the song was called "Running... Home to Mama")
Falling in Love: "With Or Without You" U2 (Ahhh, I just love U2)
Fight Song: "I Know" Drake Bell
Prom: "The Scientist" Coldplay
Breaking Up: "Rock the Casbah" The Clash (Nothin' like a little Clash to fuel the fire)
Life's Okay: "Rapunzel" Dave Matthews (Probably the most obsure Dave Matthews song. I should go and listen to the words)
Mental Breakdown: "Forget Me Nots" Patrice Rushen
Driving: "The World Has Turned And Left Me Here" Weezer
Flashback: "Got You (Where I Want You)" The Flys
Getting Back Together: "Everybody Got Their Something" Nikka Costa
Wedding Day: "Round Here" Counting Crows
Birth Of A Child: "Flowing" 311 (As long as it's epidural juice!!!)
Final Battle: "@*$! Town" Live (How'd that get on my ipod? I sware I don't listen to this song)
Death Scene: "American Boy" Estelle featuring Kanye West (Great ditty. Perfect too, if I were in a club... dancing myself to death)
Funeral Song: "Here Comes Your Man" Pixies
Credits: "Killer Queen" Queen (FABULOUS!!!)

Cancun 2008

So, a few weeks ago, Chad and I took a long, ten day trip to Cancun. Shocker, I know. Somehow Chad was able to pry me away from my comfort zone and immerse me into culture. Truly, I was in major culture shock when we touched down in Mexico. Aside from a little jaunt to Tijuana when I was ten, and a trip to Canada in high school I have never left the border of this beautiful country. So, needless to say, I was a little stunned to be surrounded by white sand beaches and people speaking a language totally unfamiliar to me- aside from the handful of color words I've picked up from Dora the Explorer, that is.

After the initial shock (of being in a different country and being childless for more than five minutes) wore off Chad and I really enjoyed the time we had to spend in Cancun. We were able to visit the ruins of Chichen Itza, scooter around the island of Cozumel, go snorkeling at Xel-ha, frolic in the beautiful, turquoise water and sit on the gorgeous, white beaches and read... uninterrupted. Some of the best memories will be getting lost in downtown Cancun (European Vacation anyone? "Hey look kids- Big Ben, Parlaiment."), taking the ferry ride over to Cozumel (they had the most amazing band playing- amazing not only for how good they were, but also for their exceptional balancing skills), nearly getting attacked by a huge iguana- okay, not really, but he was running towards me, watching Chad go scuba diving (seriously amazing for someone who can't swim without noseplugs), and watching families of four cruise down the freeway on a mo-ped.

Seriously, if you ever have the chance to visit Cancun, it is totally worth it. It is such a beautful place. And now some pics for your viewing pleasure.
